World’s Cheapest Tablet in India

The most economic tablet in the world would be available in India for Rs 1700 ($35) from next month’s October 5 and is especially made for students of school to universities at the price. It is good news that Indian education system is thinking to go beyond classroom teaching and allowing students to compete with others at the same platform.

The news came in to light when Communications and Information Technology Minister for India, Kapil Sibal publicized it an award event held at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Further details were kept as secret for inaugural function, which would be held, soon, said Sibal. Tablet’s main advantage is its low-cost which is specially kept so that price should not become a stumbling block for students to grow. From power point presentations to internet, every facility is enclosed in the yet-to-be released tablet.

Tech Specs & Features of India’s $35 Tablet

The $35 tablet features 7″ touch screen (resolution unknown yet), 32 GB Internal memory, 2 GB RAM, 2 USB ports and video conferencing capability (now we know how student’s are going to use it in class). The tablet will be multimedia tablet and we are not sure whether there will be inbuilt speakers. However, it makes sense to have just a headphone jack instead of speakers.
